Job Opportunity: General Adult (Inpatients) Consultant Psychiatrist
Location: Midlands
We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Consultant to join a recently refurbished inpatient unit based in the Midlands, focussing on providing therapeutic interventions for male patients in need of inpatient treatment for mental health conditions.
As the ward Consultant, you will work closely with the Ward Manager and senior leaders to shape and develop the service. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality care, and contribute to improving the safety, privacy, and dignity of adult acute mental health patients.
You’ll be joining a dynamic and innovative team committed to providing exceptional mental health care. The work you do will directly impact the recovery of those in need, and you will play a key role in developing services
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clinical leadership to your team and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (MDT) within the adult acute mental health service
* Lead by example within the MDT to maintain the highest clinical standards
* Support the development of recovery care plans, co-producing them with service users, their carers, clinicians, and external agencies
* Ensure an environment that respects patients’ cultures, life experiences, and protected characteristics, promoting their recovery journey
* Contribute to service developments and work closely with senior leaders to implement innovations in patient care
* You will be required to join the oncall rota
What We’re Looking For:
* A Consultant with a strong background in mental health, leadership, and service development
* Experience leading teams and delivering high-quality care in line with national standards
* Strong knowledge of mental health conditions, the Mental Health Act (MHA), and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaborative, patient-centered care
* A commitment to creating a therapeutic environment focused on patient recovery
Qualifications & Experience:
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
* Fully registered with GMC with a license
* S12 and Approved clinician status
* Experience in the specialty and service provision
