We are seeking a dynamic and innovative New Product Development (NPD) Specialist to join our cheese grating/processing site. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of new products from concept to commercialization, ensuring alignment with market trends, customer needs and company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Product Development: Lead the development of new or existing products, including ideation, formulation, and pilot testing. Ensure products meet quality standards, regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
* Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive products. Use insights to guide product development and innovation strategies.
* Project Management: Manage NPD projects from concept to launch, including timelines, resources, and budgets. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
* Product Testing: Oversee product testing and validation, including sensory evaluation, shelf-life testing, and performance analysis. Work with quality assurance to ensure products meet safety and quality standards.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all product development activities, including formulations, test results, and project updates.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with R&D, marketing, sales, and production teams to ensure successful product launches. Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed.
* Innovation: Drive continuous improvement and innovation in product development processes. Stay informed of industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and techniques into product development.
Qualification & Skills:
* Education: Degree in Food Science
* Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in product development within the dairy industry, specifically with cheese products. Experience with mozzarella cheesemaking is highly desirable.
* Technical Skills: Food safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in product formulation and testing.
* Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external partners.
