Senior Commercial Finance Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Commercial Finance Manager to partner closely with our Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Regional Director for one of our highest priority regions and Director of Treatwell Store, a core strategic growth initiative. This role will be responsible for managing and developing a high-performing Commercial Finance Manager.
In this high-impact role, you will be instrumental in partnering with the CMO and Marketing team to design and execute a refreshed full-stack marketing strategy across the 13 countries Treatwell operates in. In addition, the role will serve as the primary Business Partner to a Regional Director with full P&L responsibility across multiple countries. Finally, the role will support the Director of Treatwell Store (eCommerce) in successfully scaling the business, whilst optimizing the long-term business model.
You will leverage your unique financial acumen to drive business performance and ensure the success of strategic initiatives by delivering data-driven insights, managing financial planning, and mitigating risks. As a leader within the Commercial Finance team, you will act as a trusted advisor, contributing to both top-line and bottom-line goals. You will provide critical financial insights, ensure strong cost control, and be integral in fostering collaboration between Finance, Marketing, Product/Tech and other key regional business areas.
You will be responsible for:
Business Partnership: We are the primary thought leaders and sparring partners for our business partners, providing insightful analysis which results in action and/or a decision taken based on solid financial and data-driven rationale. How we do it?
1. Critical analysis: We are "critical friends", questioning assumptions and providing an objective perspective. We use data and analysis to facilitate discussions, ensuring decisions are grounded in solid financial rationale, balancing risk vs reward.
2. Collaborative Problem-Solving:
1. We foster an open and constructive dialogue with business leaders, using data and analysis to explore different scenarios and consider their financial implications.
2. We support decision making by building business-cases for the most significant decisions, whilst providing simple, easy-to-use financial tools which empower teams to take a robust data-driven and financial approach to decision-making.
3. Risk Management:
1. We facilitate regular performance review meetings, challenging business units on their performance and plans. We proactively identify risks and opportunities, partnering with the Analytics and Business teams to deep-dive and drive implementation of mitigating actions, holding teams to account.
2. We provide clear forward-looking guidance for business leaders to identify potential risks to achieving top and bottom-line goals. We proactively partner with teams to develop strategies to mitigate risk.
Financial Planning: we lead key planning and forecasting processes, aligning with business partners on challenging yet realistic targets, tracking progress with forward-looking guidance. How we do it?
1. Budgeting: Annually, we drive the creation of comprehensive financial plans linked to operating plans and OKRs.
2. Management Reports: We review weekly/monthly/quarterly performance reports proactively identifying risks and opportunities which we deep-dive or partner with the analytics team to better understand root cause.
Controllership: our integrity secures accurate financial results and approvals safeguard the company's assets. How we do it?
1. Improved Controllership: continually review and improve systems/tools and processes to improve performance.
2. Cost control: Monitor and control costs to ensure they remain within budget. Proactively identify cost-saving and efficiencies to optimise costs as we efficiently scale our business.
About you:
* Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) with core financial skills; ability to provide guidance to the business to increase its investments and make sound financial and data-driven decisions.
* 6+ years experience with increasing levels of responsibility through Commercial Finance, FP&A and/or business strategy functions.
* Proven successful experience in strategic leadership roles within Marketplace, e-commerce or SaaS.
* Exceptional communication skills, ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders. You excel at solving unstructured problems and driving successful execution.
* Hands-on and 'can do' attitude is of paramount importance. You are flexible and pragmatic with a strong bias for action and little ego.
* Successful track record operating, partnering with and influencing exec-level partners.
* Proven experience in cultivating strong and collaborative connections with diverse stakeholders within the Group and external partners to drive impactful relationships.
* Strong proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting techniques, and familiarity with analytical tools and ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, Excel/G-Sheets, Looker).
