This role will play a critical role in partnering with the manufacturing and supply chain teams to support the delivery of timely and accurate financial analysis, forecasts, and reports, as well as working closely on Continuous Improvement projects and capital expenditure investment cases. We offer a hybrid work structure where employees work from the office but have the option to work some days remotely based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. More about the role
As Management Accountant you will be responsible for the following:
* Delivery of insightful financial information and analysis – monthly reporting to the business, including attendance at plant meetings, highlighting and explaining variances, supporting half year and full year audit schedules.
* Delivery of budget and forecasts for areas of responsibility, using a detailed understanding of the key business drivers to forecast future performance, highlighting risks and opportunities as well as contributing towards gap closure challenges.
* Partner closely with the manufacturing and supply chain teams on identification and delivery of continuous improvement projects, making a meaningful impact on the results of the relevant plant/supply chain areas and as a result the group.
* Support the business in the development of investment business cases for capital programmes, including plant expansion, new plants and sensitivity analysis of options and their impact on the group financial metrics.
* Support finance governance responsibilities in measuring the benefits associated with continuous improvements, capital investment, productivity enhancements and delivery of carbon reduction programmes.
* Drive ongoing improvements to the process associated with and evolution of product costing to ensure understanding of the cost impact of changes to the bill of materials, particularly with the new mega-programmes where the costs will change significantly over time as volume and capabilities increase.
* Continuously seek to improve financial processes through smarter use of systems and BI tools, both for generation of financial information and analysis but also as an interface to share information with the business.
* Work effectively with the wider finance team in sharing of information, partnering on project delivery and training of more junior team members.
Experience & Skills
We are looking for someone with the ability to partner closely with key stakeholders in the business, be a trusted financial advisor to them and present financial information and analysis in an “easy to understand” way for non-financial managers. You will be inquisitive, have a strong desire to understand how the business works, be proactive in spending time out of the office with the manufacturing and supply chain teams, have the confidence to challenge the status quo and be proactive in voicing an opinion and providing options for effective decision-making by key stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate will possess excellent IT skills to enable effective modelling and data manipulation, in addition to having experience in the preparation of business cases, financial modelling and influencing key business decisions through these activities.
A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent and professional membership of relevant Finance body is essential for this role.
Candidates may be newly qualified and looking for their next step to broaden their knowledge of finance or may have more experience, either in manufacturing or other similar organisations, and looking for a new challenge in a fast-moving plc environment.
