The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast is currently seeking to appoint a Professor in Scalable Data Technologies to undertake world leading research, to develop and lead an ambitious research agenda, and to lead University wide efforts to establish Queen’s as an international leader in research in scalable data technologies, and the application of this research to address global challenges. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development of a new Centre for Intelligent Sustainable Computing within EEECS that is coordinating the integration of the School’s research in computer science and engineering to align with institutional, regional, national, and international grand challenges.
The post holder is expected to undertake world class research by developing mission-led research programmes and complementary research activities, contribute to the continuing enhancement of an excellent student experience via research led teaching and assessment, and also administration and/or outreach activities. They will also make significant contributions to translating research into real-world impact, contributing to the £1 billion Belfast Region City Deal that will drive digital innovation in Northern Ireland.
