iCAN is the Insurance Cultural Awareness Network. We are the first UK industry-wide independent network that supports multicultural inclusion and career development across the insurance sector.
Our goal is to promote multicultural awareness and drive engagement within the insurance industry to help the sector employ the best and brightest people from all walks of life and backgrounds and to promote a culture of inclusion.
We do this through running various initiatives across the industry in relation to recruitment, talent retention, mentoring, employee networks and more.
We are looking for a full-time individual to help drive us to the next level, work with our new clients, support our members with recruitment and build out our client offering.
iCAN is part of the Gambit Partners Holdings Group, which also includes Gambit Partners, Gambit Insurance Solutions and Mode Insurance.
Job Overview
As the Relationship Manager, your role will focus on building strong relationships with iCAN sponsors and supporting their DEI strategies while enhancing iCAN’s engagement across our key initiatives.
You will be a lead in managing sponsors and developing relationships, support our recruitment and talent acquisition efforts, and deliver impactful events. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of iCAN’s regional strategies, ensuring consistency and growth in areas outside London, including Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, and New York.
This role requires excellent relationship management, organisational, and strategic thinking skills, as well as a passion for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
Sponsor Management and Relationship Development
* Managing the day-to-day relationships of a panel of sponsors.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with iCAN sponsors, ensuring alignment with their DEI strategies and objectives.
* Provide guidance and support to sponsor firms, helping them develop and implement effective DEI initiatives.
* Deliver regular updates, insights, and impact reports to sponsors, showcasing value and progress.
* Identify and cultivate opportunities for new sponsorships and partnerships.
* Ability to communicate and adapt messaging to a diverse range of people and audiences, from C-Suite Senior Executives to Talent Acquisition Managers and event attendees.
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
* Work with the Operations and Talent Strategy Manager to drive the ongoing development and improvement of iCAN’s current recruitment platform.
* Focus on increasing the number of hires to iCAN-promoted roles.
* Promote job opportunities to maximise visibility and connect with diverse talent pools.
* Support candidates with accessing opportunities and the application process.
* Provide guidance to sponsor firms on optimising their job postings to attract diverse talent.
* Develop and enhance the overall recruitment proposition to align with industry needs.
Networking
* Actively engage in networking opportunities to promote iCAN’s vision and expand its influence within the industry.
* Represent iCAN at events, developing connections with stakeholders and potential partners.
* Facilitate collaboration among sponsors and external organisations to advance DEI efforts.
Events Support and Delivery
* Planning, organising, and delivering impactful events that align with iCAN’s mission. This could include travel to our iCAN locations.
* Ensure event logistics, branding, and inclusivity are managed to a high standard.
* Collaborate with the team to engage sponsors and attendees effectively.
Regional Strategy Development
* Contribute to the development and execution of iCAN’s regional strategies across iCAN’s geographical footprint.
* Build relationships with regional stakeholders to expand iCAN’s footprint and influence.
* Support regional events and initiatives, ensuring consistency with iCAN’s overall strategy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Prior Experience
This prior experience would be useful in this role:
* Proven track record in relationship management or recruitment/talent acquisition.
* Experience in recruitment
* Experience in planning and executing events
* Experience in working with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives
Additional Requirements
* Regular travel across the UK and occasional global travel will be required for events, client meetings, and workshops, and attendance will occasionally be required in evenings if events require it.
* Flexibility to adapt responsibilities as the role evolves, with a focus on efficiency and proactive improvements.

* 27 days holiday + bank holiday, with additional opportunities for paid time off (pro rata from Jan-Dec)
* Pension Scheme – post probation of 3 months, eligibility to join the group pension scheme, totalling 9% with an employer pension contribution of 6% and employee contribution on a salary sacrifice basis provided you contribute at least 3%
