We have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join the team as Packaging Manager at Saltaire Brewery. You would be joining a well-regarded regional brewery and would be leading the Packaging department in our bottle and keg packaging facility.
Following recent external investment, the brewery has exciting plans for growth in the immediate future and we’re looking for someone who is ambitious and driven to come with us on that journey. You'll be part of a team including six Packaging Operatives and play a key role in ensuring quality and efficiency is at the forefront of everything we do.
Reporting to the Brewery Operations Manager, this is a full-time, hands-on production role where you will oversee the conditioning, filtration and packaging of a variety of styles into bottle and keg. You'll work closely with the Brewery Operations Manager and Senior Brewer to produce the best quality beer on a consistent basis, whilst leading the team in the development of new processes to improve quality and yield.
Responsibilities include:
* Day-to-day management of the Packaging team
* Manage daily packaging operations, and ensure consistency with the finished product
* Develop and implement an extensive maintenance schedule
* Lead by example in health, safety, and quality standards
* Coach and mentor all members of the Packaging team, ensuring all processes are followed in conformance with standard operating procedures
* Point of contact for the Packaging Department whilst on shift
* Perform internal lab analysis in line with our rigorous quality program
* Representing the brewery at industry events
Requirements:
· At least 3 years experience within the brewing industry, along with experience operating a bottling and/or canning line
* Professional brewing qualification such as the IBD’s GCP or Diploma in Packaging
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
* Coaching, training, and mentoring capability
* Excellent problem-solving, reasoning skills, and process adherence
Desirables:
* Forklift license
* Direct line management
* Using brewing related software such as Breww/Brewman
* Experience in achieving SALSA/BRC
* Relevant educational qualifications such as Chemistry, Biology, Engineering.
Additional Information:
* £32,000-£40,000 salary, depending on experience

This role is a full-time position based on 37.5 hours a week and occasional weekend work may be required.
