Job Description:
Scope of Role:
* To build electro-mechanical assemblies to technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs.
* To inspect and test finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
* To upgrade and repair electro-mechanical assemblies.
* To maintain equipment used in electronic assembly.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
* Electro-mechanical assembly work to drawing and/or CMMs.
* Electro-mechanical work, fan/motors and/or heaters to drawing and/or CMMs.
* Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment (e.g., torque drivers, micrometers, and verniers).
* Assemble parts or units according to specifications, ensuring they meet quality standards and function properly, including drilling, tapping, reaming, countersinking, filing, lapping, buffing, lubrication, etc.
* Connect cables and wires according to specifications.
* Conduct tests and inspections to identify and troubleshoot any issues.
* Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
* Complete all relevant documentation.
* Provide information or help required to customers, suppliers, and visitors from other companies within our group of companies.
* Participate in any Continuous Improvement and 5S activities that affect the quality or output of the product.
* Where PPE (personal protective equipment) is provided, you will be required to use it.
* Carry out all activities in a timely manner to ensure the company manufacturing targets are achieved.
* Take on ad hoc duties, including training colleagues in line with local skills matrix and department-associated tasks.
Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions:
* Undertake training identified as a requirement of the role.
* Undertake all other reasonable requests made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors.
* Provide support outside of normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction during times of reduced department staff attendance.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
* Able to read and understand drawings, CMMs, and SOPs.
* Able to work from SOPs in tandem with drawings.
* Able to read, write, and understand English.
* Desirable experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
* Familiarity with mechanical and electrical components.
* Attention to detail.
* Knowledge of assembly small tooling.
* Soldering skills on small components.
* Experience in assembling small components (e.g., model kits or other small component assembly).
* Ability to work in a team.
* Methodical and logical approach.
* Good time management.
* Able to communicate at all levels.
* Self-motivated.
* Professional demeanor.
* Handles pressure well.
* Basic IT skill set.
