Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a well-known social housing contractor company based in South London who are looking for a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of planned and repairs in social housing main contractor projects.
They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with expertise in small to large scale social housing/refurb projects and experience working within a housing association, contractor, local authority, or construction.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing all commercial aspects of the project including repairs and planned work across multiple contracts.
2. Producing monthly valuations and applications for direct submittal to the client.
3. Managing monthly commercial reporting.
4. Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the commercial and construction functions of the project(s).
5. Demonstrating a deep understanding of the project(s) contractual and commercial requirements.
6. Demonstrating a sound understanding of the valuations cycle and associated deadlines, prioritizing and managing both their own and the team's time accordingly.
7. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with company clients to agree valuations and variations.
8. Ensuring production targets are issued and contract CVRs are set.
9. Ensuring contracts have targets at detail and summary levels, from operative to contract manager.
10. Ensuring the quality of subcontract orders is sufficient to avoid situations leading to potential claims against the company.
11. Ensuring all contracts have measures in place to track and record financial progress.
12. Monitoring all ongoing contract costs against those detailed in the original tender.
Key Knowledge:
1. Property services/construction industry knowledge.
2. IT and Excel literate.
3. HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying qualification required.
4. RICS accredited desirable.
