Trainee Accountant - Accountancy Practice
Full-time, Permanent

We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing accountancy firm for a Trainee Accountant to support their diverse portfolio of clients.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of accountancy tasks and client types, working closely with experienced professionals and receiving full study support to develop your career.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with Managers and Directors to provide accounting support across a range of client accounts.
* Assist with the completion of payrolls and VAT returns, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to HMRC.
* Support clients with bookkeeping and cloud software, including invoice processing and bank reconciliations.
* Contribute to the preparation of accounts and self-assessment tax returns.
* Undertake general office administration, including filing and database management.
* Identify opportunities for new business and referrals across the wider firm.
* Adapt and contribute as required in a fast-growing accountancy team.
What You’ll Need
* Experience: 1+ years in an accountancy practice.
* Qualifications: AAT Level 2 or 3 is desirable.
* Technical Skills: Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and a methodical approach to your work.
* Communication: Confident, personable, and professional with clients and colleagues.
* Mindset: Eager to learn, take feedback, and grow within a supportive team.
* Organisation: Able to manage your workload, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
* Confidentiality: Always maintains discretion and professionalism.
