A leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is seeking a dedicated Principal Designer to join their dynamic team based in Norwich.
As a CDM Principal Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the CDM Regulations, working on diverse and exciting projects across various sectors.
The successful Principal Designer will be responsible for managing and coordinating health and safety during the pre-construction phase, providing expert advice to clients, and liaising with project teams to identify and mitigate risks. You will be integral in compiling pre-construction information, managing CDM workshops, and ensuring effective hazard elimination and management throughout project lifecycles.
Responsibilities
1. Leading the role of Principal Designer on a wide range of projects.
2. Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.
3. Developing pre-construction information and reviewing construction phase plans.
4. Advising clients and project teams on health and safety matters.
5. Conducting design risk assessments and managing health and safety files.
6. Coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
7. Delivering CDM workshops and training sessions.
The Successful Principal Designer Will Have
8. Proven experience as a Principal Designer in a consultancy environment.
9. Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and health and safety legislation.
10. NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or equivalent.
11. APS Membership or working towards IOSH accreditation.
12. Background in construction or design-related discipline.
13. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
14. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
