About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to work in AL6, Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to inspiring students to develop their linguistic skills and a love for languages. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach one or more modern foreign languages, with French, Spanish, or German being particularly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
-Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and interactive lessons in one or more foreign languages (French, -Spanish, or German) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential).
-Foster an enthusiasm for learning languages and encourage cultural understanding.
-Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring inclusivity for students of various abilities.
-Promote communication and intercultural skills through practical language use in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
-Track student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting targets for improvement.
-Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, challenging, and aligned with best practices.
-Support students in their language learning both in and outside of the classroom, including helping with exam preparation.
-Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high teaching standards and share resources and strategies.
-Participate in extracurricular activities such as language clubs, cultural trips, or exchange programs.
About You:
-A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
-A passion for teaching Modern Foreign Languages and the ability to engage and inspire students.
-Experience teaching one or more languages (French, Spanish, or German) at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
-Strong communication skills, with the ability to make language learning engaging and accessible for all students.
-A creative and motivating approach to teaching, encouraging students to speak and use languages confidently.
-Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage the classroom.
-A commitment to your own professional development and a passion for continuous improvement in teaching.
