Role Summary:
A Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to extract meaningful insights and help organizations make data-driven decisions. They play a critical role in identifying trends, creating visualizations, and presenting actionable recommendations to stakeholders. The role requires a combination of analytical skills, technical proficiency, and business acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection and Cleaning:
1. Gather data from primary and secondary sources (databases, APIs, surveys, etc.).
2. Perform data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure accuracy and completeness.
2. Data Analysis:
1. Analyze datasets using statistical techniques to identify patterns and trends.
2. Develop and implement data models to solve business problems.
3. Visualization and Reporting:
1. Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present insights to stakeholders.
2. Use tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel for data presentation.
4. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
1. Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, operations, finance) to understand business needs.
2. Translate business questions into data-driven solutions.
5. Performance Monitoring:
1. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights.
2. Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions.
6. Database Management:
1. Manage and maintain databases or data warehouses.
2. Use SQL to query and manipulate data as needed.
7. Documentation:
1. Document analysis processes, methodologies, and results for future reference.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Educational Background:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
2. Advanced degrees (M.Sc./MBA) in relevant fields are a plus.
2. Technical Skills:
1. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or SQL.
2. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
3. Familiarity with statistical methods, machine learning, or predictive modeling is a plus.
4. Knowledge of big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is desirable.
3. Soft Skills:
1. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
2. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
3. Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
4. Experience:
1. 6-8 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles.
2. Experience in a specific domain (e.g., Banking) is a bonus.

1. Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
2. Tableau Desktop Specialist/Professional
3. Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate
