Learning Support Assistant / Midday Supervisor
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant/Midday Supervisor as soon as possible in KS2. The role will be to support a specific child in KS2, customizing learning activities to meet their cognition, learning, and medical needs, providing pastoral and emotional support, and being responsible for handovers between school and home. Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable, but a passion for achieving the best outcomes for all children is more important.
We are a large rural primary school split over 3 sites with KS1 and KS2 at Monks Kirby, nursery provision in the village of Harborough Magna, and a Reception Unit in the village of Brinklow. We are committed to outdoor learning and have extensive school grounds at Monks Kirby with an extremely warm, welcoming, and supportive staff team.
At The Revel Primary, we have extremely high aspirations for our pupils and our staff. In order for our school and children to continue to thrive, we are seeking excellent and passionate Learning Support Assistants/Midday Supervisors to strengthen our team.
The successful candidate will need to:
1. Be proactive, patient, and nurturing, and provide a strong, positive role model.
2. Secure high rates of progress through lively and engaging learning.
3. Have a passion for ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
4. Understand the Primary Curriculum.
5. Understand the safeguarding and welfare requirements for primary age children.
6. Develop the children’s understanding of, and commitment to, the learning process.
7. Contribute towards a safe, purposeful, and rich environment to optimize learning.
8. Contribute to the learning culture of the school.
9. Communicate well with children, staff, and parents.
10. Contribute to and use ongoing assessments to measure progress and adapt teaching and learning.
11. Have the commitment to work closely with all members of the school community.
12. Be supportive of our church school ethos.
13. Enjoy working with children.
In return, we can offer you:
1. Happy, delightful children who respond to challenge and are keen to learn and who display excellent behaviour.
2. An opportunity for you to work within a fun-loving yet highly professional staff team and a very supportive governing body.
3. A passionate school leadership team who are committed to creating a loving and fun environment where children and staff can learn and grow together and who encourage innovation and initiative.
4. A school that places well-being at the top of their agenda with all staff promoting this daily; “Staff morale is high and there is a joyful spirit in the school.” (December 2022 inspection)
5. A wide support network due to our school federation with Wolvey Primary, developing exceptional practice and offering excellent CPD.
6. A highly caring Christian community with a unified family feel among staff, children, and the community, unrivalled in most schools.
If you feel you have what it takes and are ready to make a positive difference to children’s lives and want to be part of creating a legacy for the future within the culture of today - apply now!
