My client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead a team of skilled machinists, ensuring the seamless transformation of technical designs into high-quality finished products.
What You'll Be Doing:
Product Realisation:
1. Interpret and transform technical drawings into final products.
2. Assess designs with a strategic mindset to ensure production feasibility.
3. Apply hands-on expertise in machining, welding, and assembly for precision results.
Leadership & Team Development:
1. Supervise and inspire a team of 2 multi-skilled machinists/fabricators.
2. Lead recruitment efforts, ensuring a strong and cohesive team.
3. Foster a high-performance culture through training and development.
Shop Floor Expertise:
1. Oversee 2 Machinists: machining and welding processes, troubleshooting issues as needed.
2. Maintain high standards of precision, quality, and safety.
3. Implement efficiency measures to monitor machine availability and effectiveness.
4. Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and ISO standards.
Engineering & Process Management:
1. Leverage your mechanical engineering expertise to drive efficiency.
2. Continuously improve workflows and production processes.
3. Tackle manufacturing challenges with curiosity and a solution-driven mindset.
Strategic Oversight:
1. Manage the supply chain and material coordination for in-house manufacturing.
2. Oversee production planning, ensuring multiple projects align with completion dates.
3. Serve as a brand ambassador, upholding company values and quality standards.
What We're Looking For:
Experience & Skills:
1. Proven experience managing a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment.
2. Strong mechanical engineering background, with expertise in welding and machining.
3. Project Management in a low volume, high precision environment.
4. Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
5. A track record of building, developing, and retaining skilled teams.
