We are seeking an ambitious, passionate and imaginative languages teacher to join and complement the friendly, supportive and dedicated professionals within our MFL department. Our MFL department is continuing to grow, and we currently offer and run Spanish, German and French from year 7 to year 13.

About the Role
The department currently has five dedicated classrooms, with the use of others nearby, along with the departmental office. During the academic year we celebrate the students learning in MFL with special events including MFL films, breakfasts and teas. We are also looking to extend our exchange programmes and re-establish overseas trips. We currently offer an overseas placement at Easter for year 12 students, and an annual residential KS3 trip to France in the Summer term.
At Key Stage 3 we have developed a knowledge-rich curriculum that allows students to become proficient in their target language through carefully sequenced blocks of work. We follow the Edexcel GCSE course at Key Stage 4 and at A level French is the most popular of the languages A levels that we offer. The appointed candidate will have excellent subject knowledge of French, demonstrate innovative teaching and have the commitment to raise the achievement of students at all levels. The successful candidate should be able to teach French to A level and Spanish to GCSE.
This post is also suitable for Early Careers Teachers, and all new teachers to the school will be fully supported.
Main Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to:
The successful candidate will:
● be passionate about the teaching of modern foreign languages, in particular French and Spanish, and able to lead and inspire others to achieve success
● foster strong supportive relationships with students and create an enjoyable, stimulating and engaging climate for learning
● be an excellent classroom practitioner with an understanding of high-quality teaching and learning
● have excellent subject knowledge and be comfortable delivering French to Key Stage 5, and Spanish to Key Stage 4
