We are looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant to support the continuing success of our Birmingham office.
In this role, reporting to the Management Accountant, you will offer valuable support to the finance team in the preparation of precise monthly accounts, ensuring that the Group companies fulfil their internal and external reporting obligations.
This role would involve:
1. Monitoring and responding to internal and external finance related emails daily
2. Managing the credit control process, maintaining up-to-date records, and managing legal procedures as required
3. Checking and approving sales invoices and credit notes in the system as required
4. Management of key client accounts and the maintenance of positive client relationships
5. Perform regular sales ledger reconciliations between accounting software and project management software
6. Perform intercompany and control account reconciliations
7. Preparation of BAS and IAS Reports (Australia)
8. Maintaining fixed asset register
9. Daily bank reconciliations
10. Control of distributing and inputting Directors credit card statements
11. Providing support to the Accounts Assistant with queries and training
12. Understanding the departmental accounting and apportionment procedures
13. Additional related duties as necessary
The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum of 3 years practical experience of working in assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts and financial records
* Excellent understanding of fundamental accounting principles and systems, with the ability to identify and investigate accounting and operational issues.
* Understanding of double entry accounting is essential.
* Experience in preparing Australian BAS and IAS Reports desirable but not essential; training available.
* Experience in departmental accounting and intercompany transactions is desirable but not essential.
* Computer literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Excel
* Experience of using Xero software is desirable
* Experience in using the project-based software Rapport is desirable but not essential
