Senior Quantity Surveyor
Chester
GBP 57,852 : GBP 60,897 per year plus Company car or car allowance
35 hours per week : Monday to Friday : 9:00am to 5:00pm
We are currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our in:house Construction team based in Chester, which forms part of the overall Development department. We are looking for someone ambitious with a strong contractual understanding of commercial management of construction projects.
The role of Senior Quantity Surveyor
will include:
:
Effectively contract manage all projects in line with the Group's objectives, critically assessing potential new projects for financial and strategic compatibility
:
Deliver high quality and value for money projects within agreed budgets through effective financial and risk management to achieve timely completion of projects
:
Meet all legislative and regulatory requirements for the Groups capital works, reinvestment and ad hoc capital activities to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, compliant and environmentally sustainable properties
:
Handling the procurement and preparation of subcontract packages and monitoring and valuing subcontract variations
:
Dealing with construction and client queries when they arise
:
Making recommendations to senior management on suitable subcontractors
:
Managing budgets and monitoring these using a cost value reconciliation process
:
Making payments in accordance with the payment and payless process
Skills and experiences:

To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified toAssocRIC, MRICS or CIOB membership, hold a degree, HND or HNC in Quantity Surveyingor currently undertaking the qualification
:
Previous experience undertaking a similar Quantity or Project Surveyor role gained within a commercial house:builder or similar environment

Proven experience of delivering new build housing and development projects
:
Good working knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and current practice, including the practical application of Health and Safety legislation

Experience of managing projects with strong commercial management skills
:
Excellent communication and customer service skills
:
This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
