Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry. This Machine Shop Technical Specialist position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. You would act as the lead focal whom role is to optimise potential within the Machine shop environment. Primarily a certifying role, with a cross functional capability to support the Management team to enhance business investment decisions. Utilises internal/external expertise to support key stakeholder decisions. Supports ideas and initiatives to enhance the utilisation of machinery, eliminate single point failure and maximise layout and flow. Role Responsibilities will include: Develop, support, and assist training delivery Involved in new product design and specification. Recommends modifications and determines feasibility. Carry out production tasks in line with approved certification. Identify opportunities to increase efficiency's and productivity. To be close to industry to be aware of developments and trade shows and present opportunities to the business in order to be one-step ahead. To support production in resolution of machine breakdowns. Lease with Production Mentors and Training Department to enhance training plans. Lease with Manufacturing Engineering to support enhancements and process opportunities. Lease with Technical Process manager to create combined holistic and strategic approach. Skills and Experience required: Knowledge of and skills in a specialised technical area. Knowledge of safe work practices. Numeracy and problem-solving skills. Advanced computer skills on multiple systems. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job. Multi skilled experienced machinist with 5 or more years' experience within a machine shop environment Knowledgeable and adaptable in the use of manual and CNC operated machinery.
