Here at Saga Cruise, we are recruiting a new role into our growing operational structure. The Head of Fleet Operations will report directly to our Cruise Operations Director and lead the operation of the Saga Ocean Fleet. In this role, you will support the ships to ensure a functioning, innovative, and effective fleet operation, managing and escalating impacts on ship operations, and maintaining a strong partnership with our longstanding Ship Management Company.
Our new Head of Fleet Operations will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and efficiency of the Fleet cell, supporting the safe and effective daily operation of the Saga Cruises Ocean Fleet. You will work closely with the ship management company to manage operational complexities, ensure stakeholder awareness, and oversee itinerary performance, port operations, budget accountability, and strategy implementation with KPIs, collaborating with the optimisation team, ships, and ship management. A key focus will be on guest satisfaction, analyzing feedback and satisfaction scores to identify touchpoints for continuous improvement.
We operate in a hybrid manner at Saga, combining home and office work. When in the office, it’s to meet with your team, collaborate, and socialize!

Main Responsibilities
* Fleet performance and operations management
* Itinerary execution oversight
* Stakeholder communication and relations
* Monitoring technical status of the fleet
* Ensuring operational efficiency
* Resource prioritization
* Supporting crewing team
* Emergency response coordination
* Providing 24/7 support to ships
* Enhancing guest satisfaction for itineraries
* Maintaining fleet policies and procedures adherence
* Upholding business code of conduct and acting with integrity
The Ideal Candidate
You will have experience in a similar leadership role within Fleet or Marine Operations, demonstrating credibility and stakeholder management skills. You should possess strong leadership, fleet management, and technical knowledge, along with the ability to mentor and develop teams, work independently, and handle pressure effectively. Excellent communication, problem-solving, budget management, and commercial acumen are essential. Willingness to travel across Europe and internationally is also required.
