BSL Communicator Hourly Rate: £15 - £20 including holiday pay Location: Derby Job Type: Flexible Hours A college in Derby is seeking several BSL Communicators to support their students. This role offers both full-time and part-time hours with flexibility in scheduling, ideal for candidates who are adaptable and can work various shifts. Day-to-day of the role: Provide communication support to students using British Sign Language (BSL). Work closely with educational staff to facilitate effective communication between students and teachers. Assist in the development of communication strategies to enhance students’ educational experiences. Adapt communication methods to suit individual student needs and educational settings. Participate in meetings and training sessions to stay updated with the latest educational practices and communication techniques. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum Level 2/3 certification in British Sign Language (BSL). Recent experience in communicating via BSL in educational or similar settings. DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students and staff.
