An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinic Nurse Manager to join the Outpatient Directorate. As the Clinic Nurse Manager, you will provide supervision to the nursing team and manage in accordance with Trust policies. You will participate in innovation and evidence-based nursing practice through professional leadership and work closely with the Outpatient Matron.

Main duties of the job
The Clinic Nurse Manager has delegated responsibility for the management of the department including assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care, and the setting of standards on a shift basis.
The Clinic Nurse Manager will act as a credible and professional role model and will encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential.
The Clinic Nurse Manager has delegated responsibility for the operational and management issues and takes on the leadership of specific projects as agreed with the Outpatients Senior Sister and Outpatients Matron.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Facilitate communication, resulting in clear responsibilities being identified within the multi-professional team.
* Exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff, and carers requiring tact and diplomacy. Ensure that all barriers to understanding are overcome by using differing strategies to meet individual needs.
* Ensure that patient concerns are addressed in the department and work with the Patient Advisory and Liaison Service (PALS) and patient forums. Participate in the resolution of complaints/adverse incidents and implement action plans to prevent re-occurrence.
* Participate in the appraisal process each year, with the first appraisal taking place within the first 6 months from appointment.
* Ensure that staff within the department are up to date with their statutory and mandatory training, both essential and core to the role.
* Maintain the Medical Device Matrix reflecting staff competency and education requirements.
* Investigate and respond to incidents and complaints.
