Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for the delivery of day care to adults who have a learning disability, consistent with Social Work policies and procedures including assisting service users to meet their needs as detailed in their care plans in a way which respects their dignity as individuals, maximising their levels of independence and promoting their inclusion within the wider community.
You must enjoy working with people who have learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorder and have an understanding of their needs; be an effective communicator, showing a professional and courteous manner to service users, carers, other professionals and agencies; be able to work on your own initiative and be a team player, be honest and enthusiastic with the capacity to learn and apply new skills. You must be available to work flexibly as required.
It is also essential you are registered or willing to register with the SSSC or other appropriate Social Care Regulatory Body.
Possession of a SVQ Level 2 in Social Care is desirable, while the commitment and capacity to achieve this qualification is essential.
If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
