Role and Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Design Technology lessons that cater to the diverse needs of SEN students.
* Develop innovative and engaging curriculum materials that support the learning and development of all students.
* Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to inspire and motivate students, encouraging creativity and problem-solving skills.
* Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students.
* Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
* Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, understanding, and positive behavior.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education and Design Technology.
* Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities and school events.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications in Design Technology.
* Proven experience teaching Design Technology, preferably within an SEN setting.
* Strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and experience in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
* Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
