The Role
As a Security Officer Triage – Architecture & Engineering, you will be responsible for the security engagement process by assessing, triaging, and determining the necessary security controls assurance for various projects. The Security Officer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen the organization’s security posture and, when needed, perform direct security assessments and coordinate activities to maintain robust security standards.
Key Responsibilities :
* Security Engagement Triage: Act as the initial point of contact for security-related engagements. Triage and evaluate incoming security requests to ascertain the level of security controls assurance required.
* Liaison with Internal SOC Teams: Assessment Coordination: Collaborate with relevant technical, engineering, and operational teams to align on security requirements and integrate them into project plans.
* Security Assessments: When applicable, conduct detailed security assessments, documenting findings, and providing actionable recommendations.
* Security Controls Assurance: Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that appropriate security controls are identified, validated, and implemented effectively.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of security engagements, triage processes, and outcomes. Report on the status and progress of security controls and assessments.
* Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and enhancement of security policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
* Collaboration & Communication: Build strong partnerships with other teams, including IT, DevOps, and Risk Management, to foster a collaborative approach to security management.
* Training & Guidance: Provide guidance and training to teams on security assurance processes and best practices to promote a culture of security awareness.
Your Profile
Key skills/knowledge/experience:
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), risk assessment methodologies, and cloud security principles.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess complex technical environments, identify potential security gaps, and recommend effective solutions.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and lead initiatives that span multiple departments.
* Certifications (preferred): CISSP, CISM, or similar professional security certifications.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
