Position: Senior Antenna Mechanical System Engineer
Location: Harwell Campus, Didcot, Oxford, OX11 0QX

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical System Engineer to take a pivotal role in our engineering team. This role combines hands-on design and development work with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and overseeing all mechanical design-related activities and solutions for a variety of innovation tracking antennas. Key Responsibilities
• Leading mechanical design team and responsible for overall mechanical design activities.
• Working alongside RF engineering, providing integrated RF/Mechanical solutions and structure design for antennas.
• Responsible for full life cycle of product development—design, analysis, build, test and delivery.
• Prepare documentation for design, analysis, manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes.
• Define and execute mechanical testing and verification activities.
• Support Business Development with technical expertise for proposals and customer engagements.
• Interpret customer requirements, negotiate design solutions and address trade-offs.
• Oversee manufacturing and assembly to ensure quality and design alignment.
• Manage work schedule, resources and risks to ensure quality, on-time and on-cost delivery.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager(s) to ensure successful completion of overall project.
Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related subjects.
• Technical Expertise: Proficient in mechanical engineering, structure and tracking mechanism design, stress/thermal analysis, environmental impact assessments and testing.
• Analytical Skills: Experienced with mechanical analytical tools and techniques for structural integrity analysis.
• Materials and Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing methods and their limitations.
• Innovative Thinking: Capable of developing robust design solutions, critiquing ideas and addressing technical requirements independently.
• Communication Skills: Excellent ability to convey complex subjects effectively through presentations and discussions.
• Desirable Knowledge: Familiarity with antenna engineering principles is advantageous but not essential.
