Mechanical Building Services Lead - Mission Critical (Data Centres) Location: Bristol (Hybrid/Flexible/ Remote Working Available) Salary: £56,600 - £78,400 per annum Hours: 37.5 per week A leading consultancy, recognised for its innovation in mission critical environments, is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Lead to join its specialist data centre division. As part of a high-performing multi-disciplinary team, you'll take a strategic and technical leadership role within the business, helping to shape and grow the delivery of complex data centre projects across the UK and internationally. Key Responsibilities: Client Development: Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within client data centre project teams. Support business growth through strategic client engagement. Technical Leadership: Drive technical excellence by developing standards, mentoring engineers, and contributing to national technical forums. Team Capability: Maintain high standards of design competence across the mechanical team. Act as the primary technical point of contact for mechanical services within the business. Market Insight: Conduct technology and competitor analysis to support strategic decision-making. Engage with suppliers and partners at both regional and national levels. Collaborative Delivery: Work closely with architecture, engineering, sales, and project teams to ensure integrated design and successful delivery. Project Management: Oversee multi-disciplinary project delivery, aligning outcomes with client and internal objectives. Ensure financial accountability and reporting on project performance. Reporting & Trends: Lead regular reporting on project health, supplier engagement, and sector trends to inform business strategy. Candidate Profile: Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; Chartered Engineer status preferred. Demonstrable experience delivering large-scale data centre projects (£100m). In-depth understanding of data centre cooling systems and associated mechanical services. Strong commercial acumen and ability to lead client-facing technical discussions. Proven leadership capabilities with experience mentoring and managing engineering teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence speaking at both internal and external events. An established professional network within the mission critical/data centre sector is highly desirable.
