Job summary The Cardio-respiratory Department is a team of Highly Specialist/Specialist Physiologists and Healthcare scientists that perform a variety of Cardiology and Respiratory Diagnostic tests. As one of our admin team you provide an essential role in providing the first point of contact our patients have within the department. You will be essential in maintaining a constant diary of appointments with the ability to prioritise patients for clinical and national targets. You will also work with our physiologists to prioritise appropriate patients and clinics when required alongside dealing with phone calls regarding appointments and assisting staff both within and outside of the trust. Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity as arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Clerical Assistant to join our busy department, one based at each site though both would be expected to work cross site as the need arises. You will also provide booking suppport for the Cardiorespiratory floor of the CDC, Hollinswood house along with the rest of the booking team. There may be the need to have an onsite presence there on occasion, otherwise this is done from the acute sites. The successful applicant will need to have had experience in dealing with the general public, ideally in a healthcare setting. They will have good IT skills and remain calm and professional under pressure in the often challenging role. A good telephone manner, confidence and initiative is essential. Duties including making and altering appointments answering the telephone, arriving and discharging our patient on both SEMA and CRIS systems and helping with queries from the public and other hospital colleagues. The Cardiorespiratory Department is an extremely busy, fast paced department and requires our clerical staff to meet demanding targets, therefore you will be a pivotal member our team.
