Regional Sales Manager – UK & Ireland
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for Key Accounts and the market growth development across OEM’s, electricity distribution network operators (DNO’s) and contractors.
The role will involve working with the Global Sales Director to ensure the necessary pre-qualification, approval and commercial acceptance of the company’s oil and cast-resin insulated distribution and power transformer products for DNO, IDNO and private contractor clients.
The key focus of the role is to gain additional market share by developing and executing an effective customer penetration & development strategy for each target.
Once the business plan has begun to be delivered then there will be a progression opportunity to a senior/national role within 3-5 years.
Responsibilities:
• Key Account Management of a major partner in the UK
• New business target of 40% new business (20% current) & then managing those accounts.
• Identify and develop sales opportunities in specific utilities and contractors.
• Assist in the development/implementation of both long and short-term market plans with the Directors to fulfil the strategic objectives.
• Research and map out the product acceptance criteria at key utilities and manage the end-to-end process so the company successfully attains the necessary approvals.
• Prospect target utility accounts which offer the company the best opportunity for product acceptance and sales in the short & long-term.
• Identify and engage with the key stakeholders and decision makers at the targeted utilities.
• Create and implement a new market entry strategy and establish achievable sales targets.
• Responsibility for delivering the sales revenue and gross margin objectives.
• Awareness of the customers goals and drivers.
• Keep abreast of the markets, products, industries, technical developments and/or trends.
• Provide customer feedback on quality of products and service.
• Produce sales visit reports and/or monthly reports showing progress towards target attainment.
• Based on analyse and competitive intelligence continually advise the management on current market price levels.
Skills/Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years technical sales experience of selling Medium/High Voltage Electrical equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• New market expansion experience would be an advantage.
• Proven and successful experience in business development and key account management.
• Expert user of Microsoft Office applications, and CRM software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• English language fluency - written/verbal
• High level of negotiation skills from value-based selling techniques
