Senior SHEQ Advisor
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + car allowance, life assurance, critical illness, healthcare, 33 days leave

On offer is a permanent position as a Senior SHEQ Advisor to work in and around the London and South East areas for a well-established and ever-growing utility contractor. This is a great opportunity for applicants experienced within the construction and the utilities sector. Overall, the successful applicant will have a genuine passion for all health, safety, wellbeing, and environmental issues. You will be accountable for supporting and advising on all aspects of health and safety, including environmental management, along with mentoring the team's junior members and providing guidance daily.
YOUR NEW ROLE
1. Provide support to the operational team - making sure that all employees are aware of their duties and responsibilities
2. Guide and mentor junior members of the team
3. Work with the Head of the department to develop and monitor KPIs and to improve the SHEQ department
4. Site inspections
5. Manage audits
6. Lead incident investigations, analysing root causes and produce corrective action plans
7. Review risk assessments
8. Develop and deliver Toolbox Talks, learning bulletins, monthly focuses on health and safety, environmental and wellbeing issues
9. Internal audits - Produce reports based on these findings
10. Supply chain audits
11. Develop and deliver training sessions within the company
12. Keep updated on new legislations
13. Produce reports on work, projects and activities carried out
14. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
ABOUT YOU
1. MUST have experience within the construction or utilities sector
2. MUST have experience as a Senior SHEQ Advisor
3. Hold a relevant degree
4. NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma Occupational Health and Safety Management OR NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice
5. Hold an environmental qualification
6. IOSH membership (CertIOSH)
7. Hold a valid UK driving licence
