The Exciting Role
Lancashire Adult Learning are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and student-focused Community Teacher – Health & Wellbeing to join their Health & Wellbeing team on a fixed-term basis, working 35 hours per week.
The successful candidate will have experience of teaching adults and/or families within community settings and have specialist knowledge within the subjects of Physical Exercise and Nutrition. They will focus on embracing the College ethos that every learner can achieve their full potential and positively represent the college both internally and externally, at all times. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the teaching team to further develop this strand of the Health & Wellbeing and Family Learning curriculums.
This role will be based at our Lancashire Adult Learning site, however, travel across Lancashire will be required.
What You Will Be Doing:
* Plan and teach selected courses within the curriculums of Health, Wellbeing and Family Learning, delivering highly effective teaching, with a particular focus on physical exercise and nutrition.
* Develop and share resources with the team.
* Prepare learners for accreditation, where appropriate.
* Complete reviews of learner progress towards achievement of individual learning goals using the RARPAP process.
* Ensure provision is aligned with best practice in community learning
What We Are Looking For:
* Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification
* Successful teaching experience in a relevant subject area
* Knowledge of and proven ability to deliver the curriculum successfully
* Demonstrate a learner centred approach to teaching and learning
* Recognised teaching qualification
* A higher degree or advanced qualification
