The successful candidate will provide Operations leadership to four sites across EMEA with over $200M revenue and approximately 420 FTEs. They will act as a multi-Site Leader for the Microbiology Division facilities in Basingstoke, Dartford, and East Grinstead and oversee overall Operations leadership for the MBD facility in Vantaa.
This strategic role requires strong leadership skills to develop a high-performing team and drive innovative processes, capabilities, and infrastructure. The incumbent will utilize the PPI business system to deliver margin improvement, colleague engagement, and outstanding customer service. Matrix responsibility includes Supply Chain, Quality, HR, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver on the Annual Operational Plan and strategic business plans, driving efficiencies.
* Ensure Safety, Health, and Environmental obligations are met within the UK, aligning with Thermo Fisher requirements and wider UK legal requirements.
* Prioritize customer needs, reducing back orders and improving customer satisfaction.
* Drive efficiency savings through productivity projects and sourcing alternatives.
* Build and lead a leadership team to execute operational strategies, employee development activities, and cultural change initiatives.
* Achieve site goals using PPI and other continuous improvement tools.
* Oversee large projects with capital investment to optimize Return on Investment.
* Establish effective partnerships with Quality to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Distribution Centre: collaborate with Supply Chain to optimize distribution resources and model.
Requirements:
Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or manufacturing field; additional business qualification (e.g., MBA) preferred.
Experience:
* Minimum 10 years of business experience, showcasing clear progression through Operations leadership roles.
* At least 5 years of experience leading operations in a mid-sized manufacturing environment (100+ employees).
* Familiarity with production of culture media and immunodiagnostic techniques is desired.
* Experience working in healthcare manufacturing or a similar regulated environment with a strong safety and quality culture, utilizing data to drive performance improvements.
Salary: Estimated salary range £120,000 - £150,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
