A look into the role…
Henderson Group Property are award-winning specialists in the acquisition and development of retail outlets and have a proven track record in developing state-of-the-art sites. The team are an in-house collective of project managers, architects, engineers, consultants, and technicians and are focused on delivering best in class, sustainable projects. We delivered over 300 projects over the past year, ranging in scale and complexity, and with values between £50k to £5m.
The successful project manager will lead the design, development, and construction of retail outlets from conception through to opening, aligned to our property strategy. The scope of the role will include planning and leading all activities within the project life cycle; to include feasibility, business case, planning, advising on design and build, liaising with key stakeholders at all stages of construction, and managing construction contracts relevant to each project.
This position will be suited to a candidate with strong project management experience from a construction background.
As Project Manager you will:
* Oversee all stages of the project to ensure that the production of drawings, budgets and programmes are delivered in line with the project plans.
* Ensure drawings are reviewed, approved and signed off as required.
* Manage Capex budget for projects from planning and agreeing cost targets through to successful completion.
* Liaise with the design team and contractors to manage contractor tender process.
* Communicating with finance team regarding all project budgetary details ahead of commencement of works.
* Arrange all submissions of statutory approvals including landlord and licensing.
* Assess legal implications relating to the project and ensure Health and Safety Plan is in place.
* Ensure all approvals are in place prior to instruction of issuing orders to Contractors and Suppliers.
* Provide advice on design and build issues.
* Co-ordinate stakeholders and project participants to attend pre-contract meeting.
* Ensure that Operating and Maintenance manuals are issued at handover of the Project.
* Ensure equipment warranty schedule is passed to the Helpdesk.
* Authorise the issue of Certificate of Completion.
* Arrange for a post contract site audit within 6 weeks of handover.
* Ensure that the project is financially consolidated.
Skills for Success
Joining us as Project Manager the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
* Relevant building/ construction qualification.
* Relevant practical experience in new build project management to include:
* Experience of delivering projects.
* 2 years 'client or consultancy side' Construction Project Management experience, preferably in a retail environment.
* Proven experience of executing multiple, complex projects and respond to quick moving agendas.
* Strong technical skills to include proficiency with AutoCAD.
* Proven experience of controlling programme and budget constraints.
* Proficiency in using MS Office packages- word /excel /outlook.
* Current valid UK driving license and ability to travel throughout Northern Ireland.

It is Desirable if you had:
* A Third level qualification in a Construction discipline.
* Experience within the convenience retail and forecourt industry.
* Knowledge of materials and methods of fabrication and installation of fixtures and construction.
* Understanding of merchandising, specifically in store environments.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday.
