We are recruiting for a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS on St Helen's Ward. St Helens is a new acute ward within the trust bed reconfiguration in the hospital design. This will be an 18 bedded ward with 6 side rooms all with ensuite and 3 bays of 4 all ensuite.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a willingness to learn, to join us as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse. This role will be in addition to the other deputy sister in place within St Helens to provide improved senior cover across 7 days.

Job responsibilities
As a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse you will be accountable to and expected to provide support to the Ward Manager in St Helens. You will be expected to deputise for the Ward Manager when they are on leave, and to provide Nurse in Charge cover across the week, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
As part of this development opportunity, you will have responsibility for a given number of staff for appraisals, attendance management and training. There will be an expectation that you will also learn to support with Health roster, Datix and the completion of Audits. We also work very closely with the MDT team, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and the Integrated Discharge Team.
The successful applicant will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills. They must be able to work under pressure and be able to manage their time effectively.

* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
* Able to make judgements based on evidence-based practice and translate this for use in the ward environment
* To be able to demonstrate understanding of current developments in the NHS and their implications for nursing and quality care for patients
