The Role
A unique development opportunity is available to play a lead role in delivering a regional medicines formulary for the West of Scotland (NHS Ayrshire & Arran, NHS Dumfries & Galloway, NHS Forth Valley, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and NHS Lanarkshire).
You’ll provide pharmacy leadership to a multi-disciplinary remote team who will work closely together to develop the regional formulary. While this fixed-term position is hosted within NHS Lanarkshire, you will work collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders across the whole region, with a view to implementing an innovative prescribing resource that will benefit all Health Boards in the West of Scotland.
This position is for a two-year fixed-term secondment, with up to 2 post holders each working 2 or 3 days per week alongside your substantive post. It is therefore essential that you have the approval of your line manager prior to submitting an application.
You will have experience of working at a senior level in pharmacy management, with specific expert knowledge of formulary development and implementation. You’ll be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of medicines governance, a personal commitment to professional development and a dynamic approach to service improvement.
Applications are welcomed from suitably qualified candidates with a passion for delivering pharmacy services and improving the quality of care to patients.
