Senior Building Surveyor required
Birmingham, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
£46,800.00 per annum, plus £1,680 car allowance (pro rata)
About the role : Our client an established Birmingham based social housing provider are currently seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor with a successful track record in the Housing sector. The successful candidate will proactively manage and coordinate the work within the surveying team, taking responsibility for the operational delivery of both responsive repairs and planned projects across the organisation's stock. This is a crucial role in supporting with the implementation of the stock investment programme, the building safety remedial plans and decarbonisation programme.
Key Areas
* Provide leadership and expert technical knowledge to the organisation on surveying, all aspects of building maintenance and investment.
* Deliver a range of surveying services, to implementing, monitoring, inspecting, diagnosing repairs, and managing contract works on a range of projects and services
* Review property related customer complaints identifying the root cause. Manage disrepair and environmental health cases and recommend appropriate remedies, and strategies to address any related issues.
* Working with consultants, contractors, and customers in the delivery of improvement works to the associations stock.
* Undertaking all aspects of the surveying functions required in the provision of a professional service and ensure that the Associations stock is maintained in the highest possible standard.
* Support the Technical Services Team with the implementation and prioritisation of remedial programmes for all aspect building safety (including fire, asbestos, electrical, CDM, legionella, compliance).

The ideal candidate will:
* Be experienced in managing contractors performance delivering building works at a project level including H&S, quality, value, progress and KPIs.
* Have a strong understanding of maintenance services within social housing sector (responsive, empty homes, planned, cyclical and compliance)
* Experience of working to set budgets whilst ensuring value for money.
* An understanding of current building legislation and wider sector issues relating to energy performance and building safety (essential).
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of undertaking stock condition surveys and managing data (essential).
* Experience of working within the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
