The division employs over 9,000 people working in a chilled environment to process poultry products which are then marketed to UK consumers via major retailers. ABOUT THE ROLE: With full oversight of a large area of one of the UK’s biggest production sites, you will be managing a team of Shift Engineers on a 4 on 4 off pattern. Your role will involve leading, managing and engaging your team to work safely and convert departmental objectives into achievable tasks at the execution level. Da to day you can expect the role to involve: · Implementing Zonal working – work with production managers to enforce this. · Monitor behaviour of the team; e.g. PPE, time management etc. · Monitor staff absence: follow the company absence policy - liaise with HR if triggers are met. Carry out ALL RTW documentation (holidays – sickness / absence) · Source shift cover for holidays / absence, authorise your team’s holidays ensuring that only 2 Engineers are off at any one time. · Ensure overtime is monitored and controlled within budget. · Complete workshop inspections during handover, fully complete handover paperwork. Do all you can to ensure a lean handover. · Have effective communications in place both internal and external to the department ensuring reports are sent out in a timely manner. · Manage the good requisition sheet ensure your team are using the correct procedure SOP 1.1 · Ensure the K.P.I board is filled out prior to the Shift Manager Meeting (morning) and prior to you leaving after a nightshift. · Critical PPMs and the management of the tasks · Establish face to face communications with Production Managers to drive smooth working relationships, · Develop a strong professional relationship with your peers, resolve minor issues independently. Seek support from HR if issues cannot be resolved or need to be escalated. · PPM Completion and prioritising PPM, as manager you oversee the shifts output and the priority of the planned work.
