RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Executive
SALARY: £45,000 per annum
BRIEF SUMMARY OF MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Our client is seeking a Head of Marketing and Communications to lead the development and execution of their overall marketing strategy. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with department heads to ensure that marketing initiatives align with the objectives of membership, policy, and education programs. You will also manage the marketing team, mentoring them to deliver innovative and impactful campaigns while enhancing the client’s brand visibility and engagement within target audiences.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with colleagues, members, and industry stakeholders to maintain a thorough understanding of the landscaping sector.
Research, create, and implement the marketing strategy, aligning it with the business plan and supporting departmental goals.
Develop strategic and creative solutions for marketing objectives and ensure effective campaign execution.
Prepare and manage the annual marketing plan and related budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
Formulate and execute an internal communications strategy that promotes the client’s values, boosts employee engagement, and aligns with HR objectives.
Provide guidance and strategic insights to colleagues and members on marketing and communication matters in response to a fluid economic environment.
Ensure high-quality delivery of all marketing communications, maintaining efficiency and effectiveness.
Coach and mentor marketing team members, contributing to their professional development.
Safeguard the client’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms and channels.
Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communication activities against established metrics.
Lead the client’s participation in industry shows and exhibitions, ensuring impactful representation.
Conduct market research with current members and industry stakeholders to inform strategic direction and improve relevant marketing initiatives.
Build and maintain media relationships to elevate the client’s profile and effectively communicate key messages.
Select and manage partnerships with external agencies and suppliers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience in a marketing leadership role, preferably within the membership or association sector.
Strong understanding of marketing principles and digital strategies.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Demonstrable ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
Experience in event management and media relations is advantageous.
