18 - 30s Specialist Tenancy Sustainment and Welfare Officer
Salary: £34,285 - £38,000 per annum
Contract: 3 Year Fixed Term Contract, full time 35 hours per week
Location: Winchester (hybrid including 3 days based in Winchester)

Role Overview
Are you passionate about supporting young people to maintain secure housing? Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of under 30s facing tenancy challenges?
We are looking for a Tenancy Sustainment Officer to provide vital support to young tenants (aged 18 – 30). Working in the Winchester City Council area, your support will help them to stay in their homes and build independent futures.
Key responsibilities
What you will do:
Support young people in managing their tenancy, rent and household bills.
Offer advice on budgeting and benefits.
Obtaining grant and charity funding to support individual needs.
Provide pre tenancy and early tenancy support and guidance.
Work closely with landlords, support services and local agencies.
Refer for employment, education, and wellbeing advice.
Help prevent homelessness by identifying risks and through early intervention.
More about you
GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or 4 or above.
Previous experience in working with young people and housing services is essential.
Knowledge of the DWP Benefit system.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Able to engage with young people in a meaningful way.
Intermediate level of IT skills and confident in learning new software and systems.
Full clean UK driving licence and access to a car
