KS2 Teaching Assistant Needed
A Primary School in Cheltenham, GL52, are looking for a Teaching Assistant for an immediate start. This will be within one of their KS2 classes to support the staff already there. There are a number of students with EHCPS and so you will be expected to deliver intervention sessions and also supervise through play time. This role is going to be full time with the hours being 8.30-3.15, Monday to Friday. This will run until the end of the academic year.
The school are looking for someone ideally with Teaching Assistant qualifications. However, if you do not have this then you must have experience of working with Special Educational Needs and EHCPs. The school itself has a brilliant reputation and high quality education, with their academic achievements being very successful. The right candidate will be driven, have great curriculum knowledge and be able to confidently lead groups.
What will you need to do on a daily basis?
* Supporting the Teacher with the lesson
* Assisting students with their learning, particularly those who require additional support
* Support groups of children or 1:1 support
* Show excellent curriculum knowledge
* Manage behavior effectively
* Promote and nurture independence
* Build positive working relationships with children and adults alike
