With a manufacturing facility in Staplehurst, Kent fully equipped with the latest technology, including a new Aberlink CMM, we are able to provide our customers with the highest level of service and quality. All our manufacturing processes, including heat treatment, are integrated in our production plant. About the role: This hands-on role is ideal for professionals with a background in quality control wishing to progress their quality career in process improvement within a manufacturing environment. Within this role you will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of day-to-day inspection duties are met, along with defining and implementation of continual improvement targets. The job role is responsible for promoting a quality culture throughout the organisation; liaising with colleagues and key stakeholders to maintain agreed standards both to internal and customer requirements. Includes (but not limited to): Co-ordinating with the Quality Technicians to ensure all products are final inspected to production deadlines Final inspection of sheet metal & machined components to drawings manufactured in our engineering plant Inspection of incoming raw materials and manufactured goods and sub-contract operations In-process inspection of parts Record control handling Calibration of measuring equipment and ensuring the calibration system conforms to standards Creation of key dimensional reports, FAI reports, CofA etc. Raising internal and external non-conformance investigations Responsible for subsequent corrective and preventative actions of non-conformance Assisting with ISO 9001 management system duties Ensuring suppliers meet quality expectations Essential Skills/Experience: Experience of raising non-conformance reports and conducting subsequent investigations/actions Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality inspection role OR a relevant engineering/quality qualification Experience using manual measuring techniques, including vernier, callipers & micrometres Experience of FAI & report writing A good understanding of reading engineering drawings, projections and tolerances Experience of working within a quality management standard (minimum to ISO 9001) Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners Strong organisational skills with an attention to detail and a focused approach to work Demonstrable IT skills Team player possessing good inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate to staff at all levels Desirable Skills: Experience of managing quality targets and achieving goals Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5-Whys) Experience of CMM measurements Experience of CAD models Experience of using Process Flow & FMEA Processes Experience of fine limit sheet metal inspection At MSL, we value our people as our greatest asset and are excited to welcome new talent to our growing team.
