What you’ll do:
The Software Asset Manager will be part of our global service management team. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, optimising software investments, and aligning licensing strategies with organisational goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft and Oracle licensing, with expertise in compliance and optimisation strategies, using Snow/Flexera software.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Manage and optimise software licenses across the organisation, with a primary focus on major vendor products, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
2. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with licensing agreements, identifying and resolving discrepancies to mitigate risks and avoid penalties.
3. Develop and implement pivotal initiatives to optimise software usage, reduce costs, and improve value from license investments.
4. Provide expert advice and solutions for complex licensing scenarios, enabling informed decision-making for internal stakeholders.
5. Collaborate closely with IT, Procurement, and Finance teams to align software asset management practices with broader organisational goals.
6. Implement and maintain robust software asset management tools and processes to streamline operations and improve visibility of license usage.
7. Train and mentor internal teams and collaborators on licensing best practices, compliance requirements, and optimisation techniques.
8. Leverage analytics and forecasting tools to predict licensing needs and optimise procurement strategies for both current and future requirements.
What you’ll need:
9. Demonstrable experience in software license management, with proven success in optimising enterprise licensing agreements and ensuring compliance in large-scale environments.
10. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft and Oracle licensing models, policies, and compliance requirements.
11. Past experience with software asset management tools and methodologies.
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
13. Familiarity with software asset management tools (., Lansweeper, Flexera, Snow Software).
14. Understanding of cloud licensing models and optimisation techniques.
15. Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including virtualisation technologies (., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (., Azure, AWS).
16. Superb communication and negotiation abilities in English
17. Certifications in ITIL, and SAM-related areas (., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional) are highly desirable.
18. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in software asset management
