Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to the current Health & Safety Manager coming up for retirement, they are looking to recruit for a suitable replacement.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the management of the Health, Safety & Environmental systems across the manufacturing site, whilst promoting group level processes & procedures
2. Working closely with other leadership departmental managers to drive & lead HSE strategies
3. Managing a health & safety assistant with daily workload and tasks
4. Driving the safety improvement plans for site, covering legal compliance, new H&S policies, environmental impact, staff engagement, training, best practice
5. Risk assessments, H&S audits, machine safety (PUWER) & procedure creation
6. Hazard reports, contractor management, SSoW schedules
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1. Must have worked in a manufacturing industry - understanding of production machinery
2. At least 5 years+ in a similar HSE managerial position
3. Strong influencing skills
