About the team and role:
eBay Live is a new way to sell on eBay, where sellers and buyers interact live on video. eBay sellers build buyer trust, expand their customer base, and grow repeat business through consistent and engaging live streams on eBay Live. eBay buyers can view, chat, ask questions, give feedback, vote, and buy online during eBay Live selling. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast growing platform that could change not only how commerce is done on eBay but across the industry.
The UK GM of eBay Live will own the growth and operations of the eBay Live business with the ability to articulate the strategy to address the highest priority opportunities for the customers and business and bring shared alignment across the organization. Partnering closely with global product, marketing, monetization, policy, and customer service teams to implement strategic programs, set objectives and key results for initiatives and projects, and build processes to drive ground-breaking outcomes for the Live platform.
What you will accomplish:
1. Develop the competitive value proposition for eBay Live in your country to drive growth and transform the future of ecommerce, leaning on findings from eBay Live US while building your own localized strategy for a successful live business.
2. Grow an organization adapted to local country needs, including category & account management, programming & production and seller/product operations; then work across a full multi-functional team including finance, HR, legal, and marketing to deliver country performance against topline and bottom-line targets.
3. Create hypothesis-based learning agendas across selection, content, and operations and iterate on playbooks to improve success.
4. Work with central, US-based team (and other markets) on standard processes and resourcing, and with country/regional CEO on go-to-market, regulatory, etc.
5. Craft meaningful strategic partnerships with local GMs across categories to enable a winning experience.
6. Drive strong associate engagement and lead all aspects of team’s performance on key priorities.
What you will bring:
1. BA/BS degree, with 10+ years of relevant ecommerce experience; media industry experience and MBA or advanced degree a plus.
2. Experience as a leader of an operational business or General Manager in an online marketplace, digital platform, or retail environment.
3. Demonstrable experience with defining strategy, aligning multi-functional teams to shared outcomes and delivering strategies from roadmap to delivery in a highly collaborative culture.
4. Broad experience across operations, product, and marketing functions.
5. Comfortable making decisions with imperfect information where there may be ambiguity and need to use data to meet deliverables and drive initiatives to completion.
