We are looking for a dedicated Housing Advice and Prevention Officer to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families facing housing challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake senior officer reviews of homelessness cases under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014, ensuring decisions are lawful, fair, and transparent.
2. Respond to statutory reviews of decisions, including those related to the suitability of accommodation, with well-reasoned and clear written responses.
What We're Looking For:
1. Extensive knowledge and practical experience of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014, particularly casework related to homelessness prevention and statutory reviews.
2. Experience in homelessness prevention, housing advice, or similar frontline roles.
3. Strong report-writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex casework decisions clearly and professionally.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with stakeholders, including elected representatives and other public bodies.
5. Proven ability to handle complaints and sensitive issues with empathy, tact, and a problem-solving approach.
