Are you a good machinist who can turn their hand to most things and would be comfortable in a machine shop with lots of different ages of machines from various manufacturers?
Do you want to progress your career to take on more responsibility than just running your machines?
This could be the job for you!
My client is looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor to supervise their busy machine shop. The company manufactures machine components for their internal manufacturing lines and, due to growth, a reshuffle in the department, and an increase in orders, they have a new opening for a Machine Shop Supervisor. This is a days-based role for an experienced CNC Machinist who has recently, or has plans to, step into a Machine Shop Supervisor position.
Machine Shop Supervisor - Role and Responsibilities
This well-established Precision Engineering Manufacturer is looking for an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor with a CNC background to join the team. This role will include production planning, management of the shop floor, and being a vocal point between Machinists and the Directors. It is a very hands-on role and supervises a small department, requiring you to work alongside the other engineers most days alongside your supervisory responsibilities.
Machine Shop Supervisor - Skills and Abilities
1. Previous experience as a working Machinist in a machine shop
2. Some supervisory experience (of people, projects, or customers)
3. Experience in Lean 6 Sigma and other continuous improvement methodology would be beneficial but not essential
4. A 'can do' attitude to respond to quickly changing priorities in a fluid atmosphere
Please do apply today to be considered for this opportunity. If suitable, one of our specialist consultants will be in contact to discuss the opportunity with you in detail prior to submitting your CV to the client. In this discussion, we will aim to identify your specific skills and motivations.
