Health and Safety Consultant based in Hull
Due to an expanding client base we are looking for regular consultants or a member of staff to assist with the consultancy side of the business.
To work with external clients advising and training them on various aspects of health and safety (with a potential for focussing on engineering and construction activities) to ensure that their statutory obligations are adhered to and to promote good practice.
To develop and implement H&S strategies to support and assist clients in taking responsibility for their own compliance.
Main areas of responsibility
1. To develop and implement SHE solutions which are capable of meeting the needs of the client.
2. To conduct workplace inspections & monitoring addressing; SHE Compliance, and to complete and distribute written reports in a timely manner. To ensure action plans are completed and reviewed as per client’s direction.
3. To undertake risk assessments and document them as per clients’ requirements.
4. To advise on, write and revise SHE policies and procedures for clients.
5. To provide support/guidance in respect of workplace and activity risk assessments.
6. To be responsible for providing support and advice to clients/staff on all SHE related issues, ensuring all legislative impacts are reflected in documentation and policy.
7. Attend working groups, professional development meetings where appropriate

1. Attend and participate in team meetings, training courses as deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post.
2. Undertake additional specific administration tasks as related to the post.
3. The post holder agrees to work those hours necessary to complete the job.
4. You will be required to have the use of a car and full driving licence for this role.
5. Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures including but not limited to Health & Safety Policies and Equal Opportunities Policies.
6. To a be proficient with the use of a PC, windows, excel, powerpoint, the internet and to learn and adapt to new software used by the company when required.
7. To maintain strict client confidentiality in the work undertaken.
8. Demonstrate time management skills in the office environment, and honestly apply flexi-time both in and out of the office.
