Position Overview
As a member of the Legal Department, this position will support a broad range of activities and legal matters across the firm, including corporate finance, governance, employment, compensation, real estate, and capital matters. This lawyer will provide advice and guidance to all areas of the firm, including finance, human capital, operations, and Leadership.
Job Responsibilities
1. General corporate legal matters, including but not limited to:
* Preparation and review of board meeting materials, including agendas, minutes, and resolutions.
* Review, draft, and negotiate commercial lease agreements, amendments, and related documentation for company properties.
* Support Finance Department on corporate, accounting, banking, tax, and vendor matters.
* Support Leadership on company capital and equity matters.
* Support Human Capital Department on employment law matters, including employment documentation, employee relations and policy matters, and compliance with applicable regulations.
* Provide support for significant projects, strategic initiatives, and corporate transactions.
Other legal matters, as they arise.
Qualifications
1. J.D. degree required.
2. At least 5 years of experience required, with preference for a candidate with both top law firm and in-house experience.
3. Licensed to practice in the US. Bar status in good standing.
4. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Ability to take direction and work independently with minimum supervision.
6. Strong interpersonal skills; the successful candidate demonstrates great collaboration skills, flexibility, initiative, and is an excellent team player.
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate and interact with peers and external contacts in an effective, tactful, and professional manner.
8. General areas of law covered: employment, real estate contract, general corporate, transactional and finance/tax.
9. Ability to organize and process multiple projects, documents, and legal matters simultaneously.
10. Ability to produce high quality output in heavy volume environment.
11. At least two references required.
