Job Title : Training Lead

Oversees : Studio Trainers (specific studio or concept-based)
At Reformer Collective our Training Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent quality and delivery of our class offerings, working closely with the Head of Product to design, implement, and uphold high standards of teaching. The Training Lead is responsible for overseeing the development and training of instructors within a designated studio or concept, fostering a culture of growth, excellence, and innovation.
The hours for this role are flexible up to 20 per week; with the additional opportunity to take on regular and cover classes at any of our studios.
Role & Responsibilities
* Instructor Training & Development : Lead and manage the ongoing training and development of all instructors for your assigned studio or concept. Ensure consistency in class quality and that trainers reflect Reformer Collective’s brand, values, and industry-leading standards.
* Instructor Development : Lead the continuous professional development of instructors by providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and evaluation. Ensure trainers maintain and improve their technical skills, class delivery, and client engagement.
* Quality Control & Standardisation : Work closely with the Head of Product to implement and maintain standardised practices across all classes and training formats. This includes auditing classes to ensure adherence to the prescribed teaching formats, equipment usage, and member experience protocols.
* Onboarding : Oversee the training side of the onboarding process for new trainers, ensuring they meet Reformer Collective’s standards before delivering classes. Coordinate regular assessments to ensure certification requirements are consistently met.
* Instructor Certification : Oversee the certification process for trainers, ensuring they meet all teaching standards before being permitted to lead classes. Manage re-certifications and periodic assessments to maintain consistent quality across instructors.
* Class Delivery Oversight : Monitor and maintain the quality of class delivery across all sessions within the assigned studio or concept. Attend and audit classes regularly, offering guidance and support to trainers to enhance the client experience.
* Feedback & Development Plans : Collaborate with our Head of Product to create a structured feedback system for trainers, regularly assessing performance and implementing individual development plans to help trainers grow professionally. Maintain a communication loop with the Head of Product to ensure any concerns are addressed proactively.
* Workshops & Continuing Education : Organise and facilitate workshops, masterclasses, and continuing education sessions to keep trainers at the forefront of industry trends and innovations.
* Alignment with Brand Standards : Ensure that all classes and training sessions are consistent with Reformer Collective’s brand, training methodology, and service standards.
* Cross-Studio Collaboration : Facilitate collaboration between studios (e.g., Hove, Brighton, Balham) to ensure consistency in training across locations and foster a unified approach to teaching across the Reformer Collective brand.
* Feedback Loop : Establish and manage a feedback loop between trainers and the Head of Product to consistently evolve the training approach based on real-time insights, member feedback, and market trends.
* Member Experience Enhancement : Partner with the Studio Managers and Front of House teams to ensure that member feedback related to class delivery and teaching is addressed. Ensure that all trainers are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for members.
* Collaboration with Studio Management : Work closely with Studio Managers and other operational leads to align training initiatives with studio goals and operational efficiency.
* Trend Monitoring & Innovation : Stay informed on the latest fitness trends, innovations in programming, and client preferences to ensure Reformer Collective’s offerings remain relevant, competitive, and cutting-edge.
Requirements
* Proven experience in leading and developing trainer teams, with a strong background in fitness instruction or studio management.
* In-depth knowledge of Pilates, Reformer, or other relevant fitness disciplines, depending on the concept or studio focus.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and training schedules across various studios or concepts.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high training and service standards.
