Description
We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Area Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team, responsible for our quarries across Wickwar, Leinthall, and Naunton. In this multi-site role, you will be key to ensuring the smooth operation of electrical equipment and systems within our quarries. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will conduct electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs while working closely with the wider maintenance team to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and in optimal working condition. This role requires an individual who can work autonomously, manage their workload effectively, and support the development of apprentices within the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine electrical maintenance on quarry equipment and machinery.
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimize equipment downtime.
* Conduct safety checks on electrical systems and equipment.
* Work alongside other members of the maintenance team on large-scale projects.
* Assist in the installation of new electrical equipment as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Support and mentor apprentices, providing hands-on guidance and answering their questions.
* Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for specialized electrical work.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Essential: Strong knowledge of electrical systems and Health & Safety practices.
* Qualified: Relevant electrical engineering qualifications, minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and motor control circuits.
* Self-Motivated: Capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks.
* Problem Solver: Analytical skills for diagnosing electrical faults effectively.
* Team Player: Works well within a team, providing support and expertise where needed.
* Coaching Ability: Patient and supportive, with the ability to guide apprentices.
